Moving Into Fall![]() Hi! I turn my back for a minute and it's October. I have been working on the new and improved Art Sales page, which ties in to my upcoming Indiegogo fundraising campaign as well as my new Patreon. It's been busy! I am also preparing for a move to New Brunswick, which I hope to accomplish in the next month or two. My ex-wife and our two beautiful little ones have already moved back to Saint John and I recently drove my oldest back up to live with his mom. I have also rented some studio space with old friends in the Industrial Parks Collective and am looking forward to sharing the BRB publishing gear with a new group of artists. But first, I have to get there, find a place to live, and ideally some kind of job. Hence the crowdfunding and Patreon etc. I know there are lots of you who want to help, many of you have already reached out, thanks so much. I'll make a short video for the Indiegogo campaign and paste the link above, but for those who want the bullet points, here's how you can help:

![]() When an inexperienced barista accidentally starts serving mysterious (and possibly mystical) latte art, their co-workers and customers are bewildered. But it isn't easy becoming a beverage celebrity overnight, and the pressure is on to keep pouring impossibly stunning coffees. "The Usual" is the most recent of five comics by Kate Phillips added to the BRB catalog. It won a 2023 Sequential award. Colour, 2023, 24 pages, $16. |

Black Rocks Books is a micropress and zine distro run by Scott Marshall. It exists to promote and celebrate comics and illustration created in Atlantic Canada (or by our expats and imports). If you have any issues or questions, please don't hesitate to contact me via email at shop@blackrocksbooks.com or ask in the BRB Discord. You can follow @blackrocksbooks on Bluesky. If you want to follow my art stuff as well you can follow @scottmarshall on BlueSky.
Black Rocks Books operates gratefully in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral territory of the Mi’kmaq people.
We also acknowledge that people of African descent have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years, and we honour and offer gratitude to those ancestors of African descent who came before us to this land.
This site is always under construction, and I am a broken man on a Halifax pier doing all this. Please bear with me.
